searching history of my dad gary rossiter's family he died in 1984 december23

hi i have been looking for any information to do with my dads family. He died when i was young and although i knew my grandad we rarely got to see him for one reason or another. Because of this i know very little about dads family. I have tried ancestry and other sites but not had much luck the only information i have is my dads name Gary William Rossiter and the date he died decmber 23rd 1984 also my grandads name was William Rossiter

Are you sure of your dad's name ?

If this is his death registration it suggests it was different to what you have said

Do you remember when your grandfather died and was it in Kent?  I am trying to get his birthyear from his death reg but there are several possibilities in the Ashford registration district.
