Peter Julius Jensen
« on: Thursday 06 November 14 08:46 GMT (UK) »
Hi. I'm once again looking for information of my 2nd grt grandfather Peter Julius Jensen .
He was born in 1843 in Denmark .
I know all about him after he left there and came to England and married susannah Hatt and
The children they had blah blah but I can't find anything about his parentage.
On a census record it states he was from kyebenburn which doesn't exist.
But if he couldn't talk English very well and someone  was trying to write down his details then it could be anything.
A friend of mine who lives in Denmark has said it could be Copenhagen .
Any ideas would be great xxxx

What details did he give of his father when he married Susannah?

You say you are looking "again" - are there previous relevant threads on Rootschat that can be linked so that we don't duplicate?

OK I see that his father had the same names and was a mariner, said to be deceased by the time of the 1875 marriage.

Have you looked at the Danish records on Ancestry?

Oh I see - thanks KG.

Well I think Ancestry's Danish & Norwegian records may have been added since 2009 so may help.

I've been looking for any details for many years and I dip in and out so nothing on here .
He states on the marriage cert that his father is Peter Julius Jensen deceased as his father.
No I haven't but I've seen people have done family trees with his name added but there are flaws.
I wonder if this really was his father or if he was illegitimate then just added this .

1881 census states he is born Yelland, Denmark?
Presumably that's Jylland - not very helpful, as the main part of Denmark contains the regions of Nordjylland and Midtjylland! :o

Gosh you've got better eyes than I have KG!

I can only see "Denmark" in the 1881??? RG11/577/26/48.

With "Foreign" to the right, and a squiggle to the left which I think is the top of the S for Surrey in the next line down.
