Searching for John McFarland, born either Logie Scotland or Stirling Scotland. We cannot find his parents in Scotland, but he was in Cape Fear region North Carolina, in mid 1700's. John married Catherine Buie, b about 1735, Jura Scotland, daughter of Donald Buie. We have been searching for over 30 years.  :-[  :)

This site gives an exact day of birth. John McFarland   born 18 Sep 1735, St. Ninians, Stirling, Scotland (could be an idea to ask them where they got the information from)

You are right he is not in the IGI. Logie and Stirling are close together. Maybe someone has old parish register disks that have him on them? (Or the paper records)
