Bletchley Park

My mum was in WAAF in WW2. She trained as a wireless operator at Bletchley Park and was later transferred to work under Whitehall in London. Her best friend Lilian Allen appears on the Bletchley Park record my mum Olive Alsop does not despite having photos showing them together. I cannot find any record of her id number, doesn't seem to be one on any of her photos. Feel a bit stuck as to what to do next so any help greatly appreciated thanks

That is a mystery Jan, I hope you get it sorted.
I have been watching the BBC production of those Bletchley girls, I have great admiration for all of them, the series, in my opinion, does not do them justice. Perhaps you have seen it.

I may be totally wrong here but I was always under the impression that the radio intercepts were carried out in various places and then sent by teleprinter to Bletchley for possible deciphering? Did they have wireless operators at Bletchley itself? Lots of aerials needed which might have alerted the Germans that something was going on there?

I would love to read that book, I wonder if available in the US?
I just recently watched a documentary about Alan Turning, I hope I got that name right. A genius who was involved with Enigma.
