Help about locating family information

Hi everyone.
My grandfather was born in Edinburgh in the late 1920s where his parents passed away and he was in the orphanage but he was adopted when he was 3 and moved away to the Isle of Arran.
The name given to him by his parents was Cecile Dick but when he was adopted he got the name Herbert Adam Teesdale.
Even though he was adopted very young he had vague memories of an older sister. I was wondering if anyone could help me locate some more information about her?
I know that the records of the orphanage he was in completely burnt down so any help would be gladly appreciated.

Yes Cecil would be the name, this was just a typo.

The event was registered at Haymarket Edinburgh. Searching for older females in the same place doesn't throw up any.
Unfortunately there are 114 female births registered in Edinburgh 1920-30.

I think there was a tiny misunderstanding, I'm trying to locate the birth records of my grandfather in order to locate his sister. Cecil Dick was my grandfather, not grandmother.
