no marriage for the younger
Ev has posted his death in 1917 aged 22 - so it fits perfectly with his age
so if he died aged 22 in WW1 in 1917 - he would have no descendants as he never married .

Anderson Burns discharged from the army in 1918, died 1978, no marriage found

George Grey Burns would be the right person I should think, because that's his name on the 1891 census for the family.
Sarah is Sarah Isabella. I have found a marriage for a Sarah I Burns to George Cockburn, Berwick 1924. I couldn't find any children.
