Link: Smalley One Place Study
« on: Saturday 02 July 05 18:20 BST (UK) »
I thought it was about time I introduced myself.

I started my family history researching my CARRINGTON roots in Smalley. Since then, I have gone on do to a One Place Study of the village.

http://web.archive.org/web/20100707030740/http://www.smalley-ops.co.uk/smalleyops.html

I would be glad of visits and feedback, and any Smalley stories/information that anyone comes across.
It is very much a 'work in progress'.

Regards

Patrisia Carrington

I have just uploaded more PR and census transcriptions to my Smalley OPS site - another marathon task completed!

You can find them on http://web.archive.org/web/20100707030740/http://www.smalley-ops.co.uk/smalleyops.html

Best wishes for a good Christmas and a very happy New Year :)

Hi Patrisia

Great site. Some of my family were from Smalley so it has helped me a lot.

Yes it is/was a great site.

If you try to access the site now, however  you get the error message:

"This Account Has Been Suspended"

Does anyone know what has happened? Has it gone forever?

Andy
The main names that I am researching into at the moment are Cadman,(originating from Bulkington, Warwickshire), Smedley, (Leicestershire and Derbyshire), Paynes (Leicestershire, Yorkshire and Derbyshire) and Udall - you will also find several other names on my web page. I look forward to E-Mails from anyone who would like to share or talk about our family history.

The data is still accessible via the Internet Archives "wayback machine" at http://www.archive.org/

Last version of the smalley site that was captured seems to be at www.smalley-ops.co.uk in Jan 2009.

NB the second link points directly to the suspended site and therefore won't work.  I can't figure out how to tell RC it's not meant as a link but a url that you need to put into the wayback machine's search.

So sad.
A lot of hard work went into that site.
It is a pity it can't be kept up in her memory.
