St. Francis Xavier church is still there- is that what you mean?

It probably depends on the context, it could be, as aghadowey pointed out, the St Francis church (built around 1830, but as far as I know the Parish wouldn't usually be called St Francis Parish - I'm open to correction there) or it could be a reference to the area around Francis Street on the other side of town:

Where did you come across the reference "St. Francis area", eg. was it in a newspaper article? A book?
