Robert Burton
« on: Friday 28 November 14 21:00 GMT (UK) »
Robert appears on the 1871 census married to Indiana Watson. He was born in Manchester/Salford in 1843-45. There is no entry for him or his family in the 1851 census. His father was Thomas Burton born in Manchester/Salford somewhere around 1816. Could the 1851 census have missed his family or was part of it damaged as in other counties.
Do you know something I don't?

Name for Robert mistranscribed as Barton on Manchester marriages.   His father given as Thomas Burton, slater.

How do you know his fathers circa age and where he supposedly born?
