WW1 Medals
« on: Thursday 04 December 14 22:13 GMT (UK) »
I have been trying to reunite a set of WW1 medals and have even had an article in the Newcastle Eve Chronicle - to no avail.
The medals have the name 121193.1.A.M  J G Barnborough RAF on the edge. and it is believed came from Bambroughs (different spelling) Garage Coutts Rd, Walkergate, Newcastle. My wife's aunt used to work at the garage many years ago - it is not there now.
The only other info I have is that it is thought JGB had two sons Stanley and Freddie and Stanley had a daughter called Pat.
I am attaching a photo onlong with a card that was with the medals.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Frank

I have just come across your enquiry following a google search for John James Bambrough.  His father John George Bambrough was a brother of my paternal grandad, Frederick Bambrough who set up the garage in Coutts Road.  I am Stanley's daughter, Patricia nee Bambrough, formerly Galston and now Stephens. My current interest comes from a Probate Enquiry  regarding John James who died in 1991.
You mention your wife's aunt used to work at the garage, I would be very interested to know her name.
