I am in USA and came upon my deceased mother's notes where she talks of a relative James Corr born August 1, 1842. He married Catherine Corr who died December 16, 1911 in the states.

Does any of this fit?

http://www.rootschat.com/links/01ofg/   gets one 55 Marriage results for Corr of Cookstown from ? to 1880 on https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp  which is the Irish Government BDM Website and has Free Certs for all Registered BDM's.

If one wants Deaths just click on Deaths from list there!

One needs to prove they are not a Robot by solving Captcha.

Then sign in... (I just use initials!)

Some of the earlier ones do not have Images of Certs yet, these are the ones with Returns Page No  on them!

These will have Images "sometime". If one wants after 1880 just change year range  e.g. 1881 to 1890  or whatever!

Birth Certs have father's name and  mother's maiden name so check that to ensure Siblings.

Using above Link one can check back in 6 months or whatever to see if they have been updated!

No Sub or anything needed!

If any are found on Census.... just amend Search Criteria accordingly to look for their Births.

Similarly... for Deaths between Census...... Name, Year Range 1901 to 1911, Coleraine District and tick Deaths

After 1922 their Reg will not be on the site as they were in Northern Ireland from then on.

This Search will get all Corr in County 1901 Census ... or amend with first name and/or age etc

e.g if one just adds 2 in age box to this search one gets all   +/-5 yrs   i.e.  0 to 7 y.o.

I am researching my CORR ancestors.
Earliest confirmed is James CORR born circa 1853- Belfast, Ireland or Gateshead-it changed on every census return- take your pick!
He was married to Margaret Ann Barber 14 Apr 1873 in Gateshead. He is my 2x grandfather
I am unable to find James prior to 1881 in the census returns- his father was John CORR-Ag Lab.
I have not been able to find a relevant baptism and he was born before civil registration in Ireland.
I had my DNA analysed with Ancestry and they say we come from Ulster or Limerick?
There is the old family tale of him jumping out windows to escape the forces of law and order but possibly an urban myth.
Does this ring any bells at all with anybody?
Cheers

Doreen

Hello there John

Thank you for your reply. Not sure if 1842 is a little earlier than I think for James birth year.
He seemed to stick at 1852/53 for most of the little documentation I have.
Roll on the 2021 English census returns to see where he says he was born this time around.
Cheers

Doreen
