Reading Berkshire
« on: Wednesday 10 December 14 05:25 GMT (UK) »
I wonder if there is anyone researching Warrilow? I believe we originally began in or about Stoke-on Trent.

Is anyone using Family Tree Maker 2014?   Alternative software? Thoughts? I need to make a decision so hopefully someone can give me some good advise before I purchase something.

Thanks

Peace and good health

Welcome to RootsChat! ;D

RC has a Surnames Interest Table - that should answer your first question!

Go to the bottom of any RC page.
In the dark box you will see "Surname Interests", under "Your Tools".
Click on that, and then "Quick Search".
Click on the Initial Letter - "W" in your case.
Then scroll down the list of surnames, and click on the name of interest.

You will see a list of RC members who have interests in that surname.

While you're there, why not add your own interests?

Not sure how to contact 3 persons researching Warrilow. I do see their names and clicking on them doesn't allow me to communicate.

You would stand a better chance of a response if you had titled this thread "Warrilow Reading etc." and had posted it on the Berkshire Look Up board.  It is important to include the main subject of your search in your title.

Hi

Welcome to rootschat  :)

Not sure how to contact 3 persons researching Warrilow. I do see their names and clicking on them doesn't allow me to communicate.

When in 'surname interests' you need to click the 'face' alongside their name which will take you to their profile page.  From there you should be able to send them a 'personal message' (listed under actions on the left hand side)

But you need to make one more post first! ;D

The PM system is only open to you once you have made 3 posts.

Thank all of you very much for directions. I'm not all that computer/software savvy so any help is always welcome. If you notice anything else that will help me, please don't hesitate to let me know. Thanks again.
