Mark Stratford (who married Thomasina Ferguson) was born abt 1801-1869.  His father was Mark Stratford b 1778 and his mother was Judith, she died 1844.  He had 2 sisters and 4 brothers. They were called Mary Stratford. Robert Stratford. Andy Stratford. Thomas Stratford. b.1806-1867 (who ..

Doesn't sound quite right, Thomas was born when Mark was 5?!  ;D

and a sibling of Mark whose  father was Mark Stratford b 1778, so father was  c.28 years old when Thomas was born!

Perfectly plausible!!

Ah, my mistake - I read the thread too quickly  :-X

Hi Carole,

I have some of these people on my tree. My Grandmother was a Sloane from Gowna, Co Cavan. Her father was John James Sloane m Edith Connolly 1910 (in New York but they returned to Gowna after the death of his father James Sloane).

If this fits please feel free to pm me and I will send you all the dates/info I have. There are still these Sloane descendants living around Gowna/Cavan

This matches a branch of my family.  It's good to see some some of the loose ends tie together.

Hi Carole,

Richard Ferguson (m Sidney Welsh) is my 4th Great-grandfather.  His son Henry Ferguson (brother of John) left Ireland and moved to Ontario, Canada.
