Marriage of George P Dunmore

George P Dunmore was a decorated WW2 bombing ace with the American Airforce. In 1946/1947 he married Ruth Baxter who was born in the Goulburn district of NSW Australia. A local Australian newspaper report says they left to get married in America, but I cannot find evidence of the marriage either in Australia or America. There is a possibility they married perhaps in New Guinea where they allegedly met, or in Hawaii on the way to the mainland.

Can anyone locate the marriage please? George died in October 2007 and I have his obituary. He had been the Founder of the Dunmore Construction Co. in the Sacramento area of California.

His wife Ruth died in 2013 and it would be an added bonus if someone could locate where this occurred.

There's a Ruth Dunmore died 22.1.2013 California born 30.8.1923
That fits with some city directories which put George and Ruth in Sacramento in the 1970's.
1975 4800 Tiffany Way
The 2002 phone book puts them in Roseville.

I am not aware of any marriage records available for that time frame in California. You might have to rely on California Newspapers to try and find out if the marriage happened there. Can see George Dunmore in City Directory up to 1943 in Long Beach but then can't find another entry.

Next entry I can find with George (United States Air Force) and Ruth Dunmore shows them at 330 Chula Vista pl Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1950.
