Re his court case my greatgrandfather was charged with similar and got i month's hard labour 1900 found his case in the Wexford People newspaper think it's a weekly newspaper.

thanks dathai will have a look at newspapers.
Still not sure the family you found (paul etc) are ours.  Their father is William but on our William's marriage certificate to Margaret howard his father is given as james pitham.  I did get a copy of the 1869 birth record from enniscorthy to check.  So not sure again where to go regarding his birth.  There is a James Pitham that died in prison aged 32 in 1883.  he was single but I wondered if he got someone pregnant and the birth was registered under the mums name but I'm at a loss or being very stupid.  Not easy is it?

What you need is to look for church microfilm for that marriage which will most likely have his mothers name recorded,if you have the marriage cert the church name should be on it if you put that up here other Rootschatters who have more knowledge in the Wexford area may be able to help you.
