The Crowley Family Tinahely
« on: Wednesday 17 December 14 10:36 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,

I am looking for information on the Crowley Family of Pond Street Tinahely. I have information from the 1901 and 1911 Census to show that Patrick Crowley (Croley, Crowly) and Margaret Crowley had 10 children. I am a great grandson of Patrick

If you are connected or have any information, please contact me.

Tinahely is in County Wicklow and widow Margaret Crowly was in Pound St. in 1911. It says she had 13 children but only 10 living so there are a few more children than you thought. The eldest son at home was born in Co. Kildare as was his mother Margaret. It may be that the family moved to Wicklow from Kildare or possibly that Margaret had gone back to her people for the birth.

Here's Patrick Croley with some of his family in 1901-

Hi,

Thanks very much for this information. I had collected most of it but didn't know about the record of Joseph in Bray in 1901. Margaret wasn't actually a widow. Her Husband Patrick and Son Terence were in the Shileagh Hotel Census count as Patrick was a Baker and I presume worked there.

I was aware of Killavney cemetery and went there but could only find one headstone(Terence) and the local priest didn't want to help.

So my main question is, how can I find the death certs and marriage certs of the Crowley in the Wicklow area from 1910 onwards. I have access to findmypast.ie and rootsIreland fee access and there is nothing that I can see. Where can I go to do broad searches?

Thanks for your help so far

PS

The information of the Crowley family burial that you sent me, was of a different Crowley family as I made contact with them already
