Birth and Marriage of my McKaig/McCaig ancestors

I am looking for some assistance. My great great grandfather was Hugh McCaig and was born in Northern Ireland about 1814. He married Isabella Micvcar, who I believe was Irish. We believe they married about 1835 and possibly in Scotland. If anyone has data for either of these people it would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for their parents as it will help me continue the research of the McCaig/ Mckaig family. Thank you in advance. And have a wonderful healthy and happy Merry Christmas.

No sign of Isabella's husband Hugh

Probably many variations of the surname but no marriage for Hugh and Isabella yet in Scotland.
There is a marriage for a Donald McQuaig and Nancy Brown.

Several tree's have the parent's down as Donald McQuaig and Nancy Brown as Sandra said but they also have the census for 1851 with father as Robert  .Different places of birth for the children.. have not seen any birth records or a marriage for Hugh and Isabella

All of the information that you all have given is what I have seen as well. What triggered my interest was when the 1851 Scottish Census mentioned Robert as the "father-in-law". Isabella is mentioned as the head and I am assuming that Hugh was possibly in Canada see what the immigration might be like. The other part of this story is that there appears to be no evidence that Donald McQuaig ot Nancy Brown were the parents or grandparents of Hugh McCaig. I would love to say they were indeed BUT the father-in-law of Isabella McCaig has some of my friends and family wondering if Carol Ann McKaig may have made a mistake. She didn't have the computer or search capabilities that we have today. So I will continue the search and likely at wits end assume Donald and Nancy may possibly be my great, great, great, great grandparents. Thanks for your thoughts and I wish everyone a safe and healthy Christmas. And please remember that there are folks out there less fortunate than us regardless of what we have.

I was thinking that also about Hugh as could not locate him in the 1851 census in Scotland maybe should look for him in Canada ? Looks like they were maybe married in Ireland going by the birth for their daughter Charlotte 1835 Ireland and a Merry Christmas to you also

Might Robert have been Donald Robert McQuaig???

A tree has him down as Donald Robert and died in 1860 Canada ? maybe we should be looking for a death for him ?  But in saying that a lot of information on these tree's
