I can see a prison record for a FANTON Moore b 1787.

The case was in 1837.

Given the age it's a possibility as Denis' father !

The later Fintan & Denis Moore's parents were John Moore & Catherine Perkinson.

They appear to have started off in Mountrath and later moved to Stradbally.

This is John & Catherine with a few of their children in 1901 !
