Hi and welcome to Rootschat, as you would appreciate Hughes is a very common surname in all Wales, are their any particular families you are interested in?

A Hughes family I have located are showing Rhoscolyn as their place of birth but residing in the transcribed Maesygwydda, but not all the Hughes families are Rhoscolyn/Maesygwydda?

Some of the Hughes family at Maesygwydda, Rhoscolyn are found there for each of the censuses 1851 -1901. The house is referred to as Maesygwydda in the census information but usually as Maesygwyddau in Rhoscolyn parish baptismal records.

The family consist of:
William Hughes, father, bc 1818; wife Ann (formerly Jones) bc 1816; children John 1842, Elizabeth 1844, Margaret 1846, Mary 1848, William 1854, Thomas 1856/7, Edward 1859, Richard bc 1861.

William Hughes died at Maesygwydda on 10 Jan 1904 aged 85, Anne died there 17 Mar 1900 aged 83.

Is this the family you are searching for?

There is another house in Llanfwrog, Anglesey named Maesygwydda/Maesygwyddau in BMD records but their name is not Hughes.

Bodedern, Heneglwys, Llanfair-yn-Neubwll.
Anglesey - Jones:

Anglesey - Parry:Llanfair-yn-Neubwll.

Thank you dragon T, yes that is exactly the Hughes household I'm interested in.
Do you have access to the St Gwenfaen baptismal records or any other post 1911 census Rhoscolyn records?

Thank you both for your help and interest.
The Welsh newspapers on line link is a great help.
My main interest is my grandparents/greatgrandparents from the Rhoscolyn area (descendants of William Hughes b. 1818).
After 1911 census showing them at Maes y Gwyddau Rhoscolyn would like to fill in the gaps between residence at Maes y Gwyddau  and Glan Gors Rhoscolyn and afterwards at Tros yr Allt (near Llyn Traffwll).

Can you tell us which of the children of William Hughes b.1818 is your ancestor?  I will try to trace subsequent generations (including post-1911 data).
