Searching for anyone descended today, from Julius Henry FIED-ler (Not FIELD-er), who m. Caroline SOLOMONS c.1840, in England, at the Great London Synagogue, according to the rites of the Polish and German Jews.
He was a carpetbag manufacturer & salesman. Quite successful, and after marriage, he and his wife traveled between their two houses--one in London, one in Prussia (Posen area)and all over Europe, selling his goods.

Caroline SOLOMONS,was b.1820,London England.

They had 9 children  ****1)Henry J. Fiedler b.1844, 2)Sarah b.1846,3) Augusta b.1847, 4)James Leopold Fiedler,b. 1848, 5)Charles Fiedler,b.1850, 6)Evaline Fiedler,b.1851, 7) Edward b.1854,     8)Jeannette Fiedler,b.1858, and their last and youngest sibling (mygreat-grandpa), 9) Alfred Fiedler,b.Nov.20,1861, in London (d.1910, Anaheim, Orange county, Calif.).

Believe most were born in London, or Kew, Surrey area.

Searching for any descendants or info of any kind. Please leave me an email at....
(*) . I will happily exchange info with anyone having some info on the above people. Thanks so much, dimari (said: dee marie)

NOTE: ****Henry J. Fiedler, b.1844, above--was deported in 1887 to Australia--he ended up living in Melbourne and marrying there, having a family, never returning to England, and dying in Melbourne area, Victoria,Australia in 1907. I have info on his descendants, so am more concerned with what happened to the lines, down from his other siblings, w/exception of my own great-grandfather Alfred, again whose line of descendants, I am aware of.

So what happened to their sibling James Leopold FIEDLER, whose son, Reginald L. Fiedler went to the Sudan as a manager of a mine, there, changed his surname, so that he is afterwards known as, REGINALD LEOPOLD RHODDIS-WEST? I know he dies in Bengal, INDIA, but what happened to his kids? IN 1911 UK Census he only has 1 child, a daughter of age 2. Any other children?

As to Charles Fiedler b.c.1850, know his line goes to Canada. But for Edward b.1854,  what happened with him? Ever married, had any kids?

Also would love to know if any Fiedler surnamed descendants exist today in England, still, who have this Fiedler last name today, down from this specific family of the patriarch, Julius Henry FIEDLER, of Posen, Prussia?

Any info or suggestions, at all, greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
DiMari

: ****Henry J. Fiedler, b.1844, above--was deported in 1887 to Australia-
 DiMari

I am guessing you mean his family "exiled" him to Australia in 1887 or something like it.

Only non-citizens of a country can be deported in the true sense of the word unless they are transported to a penal facility in a territory possessed by the country.

You say Henry Julius FIEDLER was British by birth

Transportation to Australia had ended by 1850.

I have not located a marriage for Henry Julius FIEDLER and Constance Jane ALSFORD in Australia.

In Australia there is one birth only,a son, in 1890 to Henry Julius FIEDLER and Constance Jane ALSFORD  at Prahran #16344

On her death registration, Gertrude Edith MCKAY has listed parents Henry FEIDLER (sic) and Constance Jane ALFORD (sic) (age 55. Yr 1936. #4326) So born about 1881

At her marriage in 1889 to  Ernt Alexandra (Alexander?) McKAY, Gerte Edith FIEDLER  gives CAPETOWN as her birthplace (#7866)

Likewise on the death registration of Florence WILLIAMSON  the listed parents are Henry FIEDLER and Constance unk   (aged 57. Yr 1934. #9143)So  birthdate about 1877

At her marriage in 1904 to Robert WILLIAMSON, Florence Carol FIEDLER gives SOUTH AFRICA as her birthplace(#7890)

So it seems the couple started their family in South Africa.

In 1871, Constance Jane ALSFORD was with her aunt Martha RUSSELL (nee LEECH) -her mother’s sister probably- in England.  Martha was married to a wealthy wine merchant and, noting, Henry Julius FIEDLER, was  listed as a wine merchant perhaps he met Constance through that connection.

THANK YOU ALL! (SPARRETT, SUZARD, & KEYBOARD 86!!). You are All great DETECTIVES!!

To Respond to each of your points:

1)to Sue Sparrett: You mentioned that Henry J. Fiedler's family must have "exiled" him, as couldn't be transported,
"unless they are transported to a penal facility in a territory possessed by the country."

Well, even though Australia had become independent by 1901, they still were a Colonial Territory of Britain at time Henry was sentenced and sent abroad, so they did "transport" him.
Well, in 1885, when Henry was forcibly sent downunder to Australia for a sentence of 3 yrs. punishment, for having stolen goods (a few bracelets, from a shop),he was "transported"....here are the documents:

Old Bailey Proceedings, 5th June 1875. 378.   HENRY JULIUS FIELDER (32) , to five indictments for stealing bracelets and other articles of jewellery of Richard Leome(Jerome?) Henry - Judgment respited [Pleaded guilty: See original trial image.]. And Reference Number: t18750605-379 England & Wales, Criminal Registers, 1791-1892  Name: Julius Fiedler Date of Trial: 7 Jun 1875 Trial Year: 1875 Location of Trial: Middlesex, England Crime: See Image "Convicted of larceny, judgement respected"

England & Wales, Criminal Registers, 1791-1892 Court, Land, Wills & Financial  Name:  Henry Julius Fiedler Residence:  12 Jul 1875 - Middlesex, England Crime: larceny "larceny (convicted last sentence)  Recognizance is L100 to appear and hear judgement when "larceny (convicted last sentence)  Recognizance is L100 to appear and hear judgement when called on."

Initially the judgement was 'respited' for reasons not recorded, but later, Henry was sent  to Australia for a 3 year incarceration. (I have document on this, too-just can't locate at the moment, sorry! Same for the doc for the 3yr sentence--it doesn't seem to be at-hand either right now---some of my stuff is in storage- arrggghhh!!)

We know he shipped out c.1875, to Melbourne, but only have a record of his further going on from Melbourne to Sydney:

New South Wales, Australia, Unassisted Immigrant Passenger Lists, 1826-1922 about Henry Fiedler   (steerage class, see doc). Port of Departure: Melbourne Port of Arrival: Sydney, New South Wales Voyage Arrival Date: 3 Oct 1878 Vessel Name: City Of Melbourne

And again, To Sue Sparrett--thank you again for more searching you did. It seems like so many of these darned records get so mis-transposed, or have typos in the original or some such. I actually have the record for
Gertrude (nee Fiedler) McKay--and it doesn't show CapeTown as a birthplace. And I have viewed Florence's birth and marriage certificates at both familysearch and at ancestry but Neither of them show a birth place of South Africa---can you copy/paste the records that do show that into here??? This would be really really INTERESTING If there is a South African "aspect" to my Fiedlers "journeys"!!
 Surname: MCKAY
 Given Names: Ernt Alexandra
 Event: M
 Sex:
 Spouse Surname/Father: FIEDLER
 Spouse Gvn Names/Mother: Gerte Edith
 Age:
 Age Code:
Birth Place: WBOOL (which is Warrnambool, Victoria's largest coastal city outside of Port Phillip. It's about 120 mi. so.west of Melbourne).
 Death Place:
 Year: 1899
 Reg. Number: 7866R
Also curious---as you state: In 1871, Constance Jane ALSFORD was with her aunt Martha RUSSELL (nee LEECH) -her mother’s sister probably- in England....WHY do you say ENGLAND--and How do you know that Constance is WITH Martha, and that Martha is her aunt (is this from another Census, or??) Just want to know as many details as I can, although I do thank you for ALL your energies you have put into this!!

2) And to Suzard: Thanks for the info: esp about the sons in the 1901 UK Census which shows them at: 66 Sterndale Rd Hammersmith London (and below--their careers!!):
Ernest M Fiedler son U 24 Grocers Clerk Dalston Surrey
Horace J Fiedler son U 21 Ironfounder's clerk Richmond Surrey
Didn't know their fields of endeavor--so good to know-thanks!

Also great to know (Suzard-thanks again!)re: Ernest Maurice Fiedler  lived in Bristol Gloucestershire where he was Inspector to Pearks Ltd Grocery merchants. And to see he served in WW1( in the North-umberland Fusiliers). Thanks!
Also thank you for his Death info: age 75,died 10 July 1951 at the Hospital Lewisham London SE13. Probate: to Rose Fiedler, widow,Effects £2515 9s 10d (WOW!). And she must have lived frugally-because
10yrs later when She dies, it shows she still has: £2093 15s 7d, which she leaves to her daughter, the spinster, Jessie Julie Fiedler. Interesting to know this. Thanks Suzard!

And to Keyboard88-thank you for finding him under the (often) Mis-spelled FIELD-er, not correct FIED-ler:
(1891 an Edward FIELDER Married aged 37 occ Linen Buyer b Kew is a boarder).

And a thank you to Suzard, once more, for the info on Horace John Fiedler , otherwise Horace, of 174 Sheen Lane London SW14, that he died 8 Feb 1959. And that Probate shows Effects of £5456 17s 4d!!

YOU ALL ARE MAGNIFICENT PEOPLE!!!  Now if I can just find out if those sons had any progeny, that lead down to my Aussie cousins, today! But I Am making progress, thanks to you all!!

Bye for now, best wishes,

DiMari
