DO NOT REPLY TO THIS PERSON.] [/color][/size][/font]New to this forum, hope some kind person can assist. have got marriage details from IGI FamilySearch as follows :- William Joshua Lloyd born 1853 married Harriet Jordan 14/12/1873 Dudley RD. Worcestershire. Harriet's father given as Thomas Jordan & William's as Lucious Lloyd. They moved up to the North East of England after 1884 to Philadelphia Newbottle Houghton-le-spring where I am now residing. could someone please check the actual parish register for possibly St.Thomas church Dudley to verify if that transcription is correct for his fathers name 'Lucious'

Having a peep at the census there's a possible in Dudley in 1871 with a father Simeon. 

Not exactly the same as Lucious but he does have a brother Limican so there are some unusual names in the mix!

Dudley is in Staffordshire so I'm a bit confused ---

OK, I've just checked and whilst the actual place of Dudley is in Staffs, the district crosses the county border and goes into Worcs.

There is a public member tree on Ancestry that has a William Joshua Lloyd b 1853 in Dudley and d 1919 in Houghton, parents Simeon Lloyd and Emma Fowell. It has no further details of William's marriage etc so there's no way of knowing whether this is researched or guessed/copied.

   The marriage took place at St James Church Dudley.

  Perhaps if someone is visiting Dudley Archives, they will do a look-up for you.

Re post by Milliepede, if you look at the actual census sheet the brother is not Limican as
transcribed but Simeon - same as his father.

In 1891 census Houghton-Le-Spring, there is a Simeon Lloyd 29 coal miner + family born Dudley

Worcs (Williams brother?)

RG12/ 4114   folio21  page35.

Possible mis- transcription Lucious - Simeon

I see from later censuses that William was a miner, and Simeon Lloyd b1825ish was also a collier.

It seems the William son of Simeon & Emma born 1853 St. Thomas Dudley is the same one as William Joshua born 1853 living up in the North East of England in the 1891 census.
Lucious could be a corruption of Simeon.
