Edward & Ann Dyer 1850-75 Poplar Middlesex
« on: Thursday 08 January 15 17:34 GMT (UK) »
Hello, my first post, thought it would be easy tracing my Dyer tree, never realised there were so many !

My grandfather George Dyer lived in Prince Regents Lane around 1901 with brothers Francis and Thomas James, sisters Esther Hannah, Rosabel and Mary Jane (I've found info on them) his parents were Edward Dyer, born 1850 and Ann born 1853, I can't find any details for them, they had children John Henry born 1858, Esther Maria born 1859, Alfred James born 1864, William born 1867, Maria born 1868, Walter Alfred born 1870, Mary Jane born 1872 and Isabella born 1875, they lived at no.10 Elizabeth Place (off Prince Regents Lane ?)
Living at no.11 Elizabeth Place were Edward Dyer and Jacola Dyer (nee Heester from Holland), with children Emily, Peter and Edward George.

I think I have found Edward and Ann's parents, Edward W and Jane Maria Dyer

With so many Edwards, I'm confused, can anyone help ? Thank you.

Hi and a warm welcome to Rootschat.

You say you are confused - well I am confused too just reading your post!

Have you found grandfather George on 1901 census? Is that where he is with the siblings?  Is he with parents? When and where does he say he was born? Have you found him on 1911 census? Have you got his marriage cert?

You mention his parents, where have you found them?
And who has the list of children (john henry 1858 onwards)? Cant be Edward and Ann if they were born 1850 and 1853!

Take it one step at a time. If you are sure you have located your grandfather then work back from there - in censuses, his marriage etc

Thanks for replies,
I found all of the replies above from freeBMD, but can't find birth, marriage or death details for either Edward or Ann Dyer other than the mention in the 1891 census, I'm waiting for my grandad George's marriage certificate, which may help me.
