Hello, wonder if you could help me?
I'm looking for my 3x g grandmother Maria Gomersal born in Tong appx 1831 to i think Joseph Gomersal & Jane West, (the Gomersal /Gummersall name seems to change variation with each person who has it!) I also am not 100% sure they are her parents as there was another Maria G born within 2 years who was her cousin! (Parents Jonathan & Maria)
I 1st pick Maria up on the 1851 census living with her parents. By 1861 she is married to my 3x G grandfather James Sutcliffe (1823-1884)
I am trying to find a record of their marriage which i just can't find, i am working under the assumption that this was approximately 1853 as their 1st child was born in 1854. ( i also am unable to track down James any earlier than 1861
I know her maiden name was Gomersal/Gummersall as both variations are named on birth certificates of her children.
If anyone could help find the certificate or confirm her parents i would be so grateful.

Maria Gomersal dau. of Jonathan married Abraham Hainsworth in 1855 so by default you Maria has to be the dau. of Joseph.

Thank you for your help, sorry i for the late reply i did not get a notification.
I know the family were split between chapel & church, i wonder if that is why there are no baptism or marriage certificates?
