Hi and welcome do you have a date of birth for your granny? Have you tried looking on Scotlands People for Marriage which would give you the names of both this couples parent's ...What year are we looking at for the children as we are not allowed to do look up on living people  :)

Hi Ben and welcome to Rootschat.
 :)
If you can give a rough year of when your Granny Catherine McLeod was born that would help people look for some info. Also an approx. year of when her and Angus would have married. And lastly do you know her maiden name?

Best wishes.
Looby

Hi again,
That's great Ben, even a rough idea of which decade she could have been born in or the couple married can be a great help.

Looby :)

If you know when your Father was born (and his siblings) it gives an approximate date for the wedding.

There is a marriage for a Catherine Mackay to an Angus Macleod in Tongue in 1929.

Is this the correct area and time frame?

There us a marriage in Skerray in 1929 ( 12th April) between Angus Matheson Macleod and Catherine Mackay. He was 28 and a General Labourer if Strath Tongue, Tongue father Hugh MacLeod, ( crofter) Mother Isabella nee Matheson. She was 18 and Home Worker of Glaicbea Skerray, father James MacKay (crofter) mother Henrietta MacKay nee MacKay. Witnesses were William MacKay, l
Letts, Skerray and Barbara MacKay, Brae Tongue.
If this is the correct couple then you should be able to work your way backwards using Scotlandspeople.
