How to find date of birth

How do I find a date of birth?   Not just the year but the day and month,   This would be a great help to finding the right person when searching a very common name.    All I have are marriage certificates, children's birth certificates and death certificates.    Who can I contact for this info?

It's really impossible to answer your question without knowing the country and period you are asking about  :-\

The best site is Scotlands People, you can search for free but you'll need credits to see 'important' date information.

Have a look also at Family Search as they have some extracted Scottish births-
