Looking for Carriag na bhFear (Ireland) family history
« on: Wednesday 14 January 15 10:35 GMT (UK) »
Hi there. I am looking for some information on my great grandmother Elizabeth Mary "Lizzie" Lynch who was born in Carriag na bhFear (Carrignavar) in @1862 and immigrated to Australia @1890. I am unsure of her religion so thought I'd seek guidance here as to the best way forward rather than blindly write to people. Greatly appreciate your help! Thanks (from Australia)

Carrignavar is in Co. Cork and there are some Cork church records online. Unfortunately civil registration of births didn't start until 1864 so there will be no birth certificate available.

Hi ballydw,
I believe Lizzie's parents names - Michael Lynch (b.@1835) and Margaret Mulchay from an area called Youghal.

Michael Lynch born 1865- parents Michael Lynch & Margaret Mulcahy

Another possible child? Ellen Sheridan married 1901 Boston, Massachusetts- parents Michael Lynch & Margaret Mulcahy. Ellen a widow and born c1865 Ireland

Added-

Marriage (1895) for Ellen Lynch, daughter of Michael & Margaret, to John P. Sheridan. Born Ireland but age 40 so born c1855

Birth of Anne Sheridan gives mother Ellen Lynch as born Co. Longford so can be ruled out?
