I am looking for the father of Richard Hey (b 1789 Silkstone)  father is William and mother Margaret,
but no further info available.
where are Margaret and William from?

Thornhill has similar dates of birth but no evidence/connection.

There is a marriage which may be a possible:-

William Hey = Margaret Fright  26th March 1787  at St. Peter Leeds.

If it's any help - William is said to be a Farmer on that marriage entry.  And strangely, Margaret signed the register as Margaret Hey, although the entry is for Margaret Fright.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
