Welcome to RootsChat!

Are these people deceased?
RootsChat has a policy of not naming any living, or potentially living, people.

FreeBMD (.org.uk) is a helpful place to start.
George's birth was registered in the 1st quarter of 1932:

March qtr 1932
Southwark district     vol 1d, page 25
Bird, George A J     Mother's maiden name: Bangs

Using the surname of Bird, and Mother's maiden name of Bangs, there are 2 brothers, born 1933 and 1936.
I'll leave you to find these for yourself! ;D

Marriage of parents
December qtr 1925
St Olave district     vol 1d, page 305

Bird, George J
Bangs, Alice

You can use the year, quarter, district, volume and page numbers to order certificates.
Only £9.25 direct from the GRO.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Unfortunately, there are a number of Alice Bangs and George J Bird births within a relevant timeframe!

So, you will need to find their parent's names in order to progress.
The marriage certificate will provide both father's names, and may supply ages for both (and hence birth year?)

Hi bitpeg,
I do not know whether you are in Australia or elsewhere, but were you aware that Australian death certificates hold a great deal of information. Do you already have this?

Your George died in Victoria and depending on who the informant was for the registration, you may gain a lot by downloading it.

https://online.justice.vic.gov.au/bdm/index-search?action=purchaseImage

You may see on the certificate-

Name
Date
Death place
Age
Occupation
Cause of death
Parents' names
Spouse names
Marriage details
Chns names
No of chn
Birthplace

I have found his parents and siblings but was wondering about the first post re: St Olave district     vol 1d, page 305...what is this and how will it help?is that part of the cencus?..I have heard from my Uncle and the info I have got so far he has confirmed except he said the sibling born in 1933 died aged 2...The one I found  died before  his first birthday but he is getting older and his memory might not be what it once was

Hi bitpeg,
The information given above by KGarrad is what appears to be the marriage registration for the parents of the chap you are discussing.  It is not anything to do with census material.

It took place in the registration district of St Olave and was transcribed from Volume 1d Page 305.  and was in the last 1/4 of the year.

Are you able to let us know what you are hoping to find?

Is it about the Australian part of George Alfred James BIRD's life?

Or

Are you looking for English information about his parents- that is to say trying to go back further into their family history?

I would like to go further back
As my father and mother moved to australia in the 50's I never got to meet any of his family...so never got to know anything about his side...The baby that died I never knew anything about til I got on here...Thus I would like to know alot more about everything and go further back in history on the Bird name..
