Charles Wood Help Please
« on: Tuesday 20 January 15 15:42 GMT (UK) »
Hello everyone, ive been trying to find my great great great granddad Charles Wood, he married in 1886 in Middlesbrough and ive got the Census information from there on. He states he is a miner born in Newmarket in 1853. Ive tried to purchase a birth certificate for him but the only one at the GRO was for someone with whose father was called Thomas. His father (according to his wedding certificate) was a horse keeper called James Wood.
I have lots of postcards from Newmarket and it would be great to find out who all of these postcards were from (hopefully his brother/sisters)
Thanks in advance for any help.
Kind Regards Nichola

Hi Nichola

Could you please tell us who he married and where he is in 1891.  The census details would really help.

Thanks
Rosie

He married Amelia Rudd (nee Castell) on 03/05/1886 at Middlesbrough Registry Office
Sorry his father James Wood is down as Labourer, her father is the horse keeper. I can attach the certificate (if that's allowed?)
Thanks

That's him, any help with anything at all pre-marriage would be fantastic.

Does the marriage certificate state if he is a bachelor or a widower?

I already know that Amelia was a widow! ;D
