Yes, but bear in mind though that addresses aren't quite as detailed as they are nowadays and that if your couple lived in the countryside, it will be a townland name that is given.

Also, please bear in mind that the column on the certificate is headed:
"Residence at the Time of Marriage"

Usually where they were during the 3 week residency period.
And not necessarily their permanent addresses.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

A marriage matching my great grandparents names appear in a part of Ireland that to the best of my knowledge my family has no connection. My great grandmothers maiden name is slightly uncommon giving credence that it might be them. How do I go about rulling them in or out given that the address might just be where they lived for the preceeding 3 weeks?

Post the details you've found here and we might be able to help.

Did you get that Scottish birth certificate, as suggested?

Do you have any of the other children's birth certificates, to confirm mother's maiden name?

Thanks everyone. I think you can see just how inexperienced I am. I had trouble registering with Scotlandspeople & then once I did I had trouble buying credits. Some bank security system that I didn't understand. Anyway thanks to your reminder today I persevered & now have the cert & along with it the solving of the mystery. James it would appear was a corporal in the South Yorkshire Regiment & got married in the Curragh Camp which of course is close to Naas.
