Hi, Sillgen,

Have found another family tree for Charles Stent. It has father Charles Stent and Mother Harriet? but born Devonshire 1821. Any chance you could look this up in Devonshire Please.
I did see the Charles Stent & Sarah Cooper sometime ago.

Was there an 1831 census done in England?

Cheers
Tweedie

Sorry, I don't have access to Devon records other than via familysearch.org and that is available to all so probably more fun if you look for yourself.  I don't know what the coverage is like but you might be lucky.
The first major census was in 1841.  There are isolated earlier ones but they don't give much detail and are few and far between.

Evening Trish,

I checked out the 1851 census in the hope that the Harriet Stent in the 1841, Head, was with her husband.

Found Harriet's husband  John B Stent on the 1841 census, in Alverstoke.

May I have me the link to Charles Stent grave in  Bognor Regis Arundle, District West Sussex. saw this posted on a Stent Board.

Cheers

Morning Sillgen,

The mystery of the Charles & Harriet in Devon:

The Lord William Bentinck that Charles Stent arrived in New Zealand on, stopped at Down, Devon  for extra supplies.

Cheers
