The other address is probably Marian St, which his widow was living at in 1916 when her youngest son was killed in WW1

It would appear that Andrew Clement WALSH enlisted using his brother's first given name [Richmond] and Ambrose to enlist in WW1.  He was not their youngest son.

I cannot see a connection to Tasmania for this family.  Michael WALSH born Co Cork, Ireland emigrated to SA.

Why do you think there is a connection with Tasmania?

George Leslie, was with 11 Field Amb, spent 3 years looking for information (grave etc) of his youngest brother who died of wounds at Pozieres, France, July 1916 ... sadly there is no known grave ...
... I recently discovered that Iris had a child early in 1919, all facts are known

not their youngest son?? ... ya mean I've got more to find? ;D ... thought I had them all ... Cecelia, Edward, Gertude, Richmond, Ruby, George, Francis, Andrew and Bernard ... so who am I missing?

ref. the Tasmania connection I recall a connection through the Victorian Walsh's, but that was quite a few months ago

The other address is Glen Osmond Road as you would have seen if you had read the link to the obituary which I included in Reply #21

We can all read the digitised WW1 records on NAA :)

http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article73064287
South Australian Advertiser   18  May 1874
POLICE COURT— ADELAIDE.
Monday May 18th
[Before Mr. 8. Beddome. P.M.]
Michael Walsh, shoemaker, charged with using indecent language, was fined 10s.

http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article47108270
South Australian Register  4 May 1882
Michael Walsh, bootmaker, pleaded guilty to using indecent language on two occasions at Margaret-street, North Adelaide, and was ordered to pay £1.10s

Now your original request was to see if there was a link between the WALSH families.  I cannot see one.

Clement Andrew was not the youngest son of Michael and Mary Agnes WALSH.  You haven't read all the info on the thread :)  It's all there.

What is the source of your information about the Tasmanian connection?

I've been following this thread with some interest. And the following is a complete aside so I apologise if anyone is offended.
Last week I started researching the descendants of the first South Australian to be selected to play Davis Cup tennis for Australia (v USA away in 1920/21). He also won the Doubles at Wimbledon in 1919.

Anyhow, one of the names that stood out was his father in law, George Gozzard Martin!

Small world, huh.
