Murdoch MacLeod
« on: Friday 06 February 15 15:53 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,  I'm new to this so bear with me.  I'm looking for info on Murdoch MacLeod born circa 1757 who somehow ended up fighting as a Loyalist in United States and then given a land grant on Prince Edward Island in 1785.  We believe he was born around Portree or Stornoway?? :)
He may have been on the Clementina leaving Stornoway in 1775 to Philadelphia.

Hello Brenda, I am unsure of what sort of information you are after but came across this about the Highland Clans in the American Colony around 1875 it does mention on Emigrants the people of McLeod and thereir initial tendencies toward the Royalist cause. You need to scroll though to 1875.

Welcome to Rootschat too. It may be worthwhile to put up a Topic on the American Board.
