William Presbury b1905

Hello,
 I'm trying to track down the family of an adopted child! Groan's these are the worst i'm sure!
The child was born William Presbury

adopted By Harriet & Aden Byrne Altrincham
When Aden naturalized as a UK citizen in 1907 he listed that he had no children, but on the 1911 census William was living with them named as William Presbury b Stoke on Trent, Kidsgrove, after that he William was renamed Edward Byrne.

Any ideas on where i might look?

The birth certificate is a must!
It will name the mother and (possibly!) the father.

William is the only Presbury birth in Wolstanton from 1901 to 1911.

There is a marriage of a Lily Presbury in 1908 in Wolstanton, that might be related, but, really, birth certificate to get you started.

Staffordshire bmds have a birth reg
William Presbury Tunstall Stoke on Trent 1905 Mother's maiden name Presbury TUN/146/072
Free Bmd has reg as Wolstanton 6b 96 William Presbury Dec 1905.

As others have said you really do need the birth cert to be sure but if the above reg is correct it could be that William's mother was unmarried at the time of his birth

If Lily is the mother, her parents are Henry and Agnes, and she has a sister Agnes Louisa, amongst others.
