looking for some family details for Joseph lee born Rhyl?

Hi All
I have been trying to find some marriage details for a Joseph Lee, born I believe in Rhyl, north wales, he married a Gladys Darcey but no dates on that only that he joined the army in about 1939. I understand he was stationed for a time in the Doncaster area as he met Gladys in Burghwallis, Doncaster where the some of the Darcey family lived. Gladys I do know was born in Burghwallis in 1922 and died in Grantham, Lincolnshire in 2006.
Any details would be most welcome.

December qtr 1916
Wrexham district     vol 11g, page 361

Lee, Joseph W     Mother's maiden name: Powell



P.S. I assume both are now deceased?

Buying a copy of the birth cert shown in previous reply will give his parents names.  There are a lot of Lee/Powell marriages on freebmd so you need further info

The GRO image does show DAVEY so I expect it was a transcription error when it was entered into the marriage index.


The birth for Gladys also has a transcription error, this time on Ancestry where they have her as Cledys DARCEY although the image shows her as Gladys.

Doesn't appear to have been any children born to the 1944 marriage.

wow thanks for all the help
all this info is very helpfull, there were no children from the marriage, the transcription error was throwing me off, looks like i can add this to the darcey file, and also both parties are deceased so this will not cause any upset.
