Sunday School Parade? Please date
« on: Tuesday 10 February 15 16:00 GMT (UK) »
Please date this old tatty faded photo for me.  The photographer has captured too much sky in my 'umble opinion ;)  Could be a Sunday School parade or outing, possible connection to Primitive Methodists, North Yorkshire.

Many thanks,
Tillypeg

Not much to date really but the hats have a 1910ish look.

Is there any printing on the back, like a postcard maybe? If it's a postcard could we see it please.

Cheers,
China

Thanks China.  No, it's just a small photo, nothing on the back.

Hope you don't mind  - just a simple and not very good tidy - not a lot of definition to go on!

A little/lot less sky though!   ;) ;)

China - does the lady standing on the left have a slightly shortened skirt on do you think??  Can't see her legs at all though - (due to lack of definition maybe rather than lack of ankle!) If hse hasn't, then she has quite short legs.

Could be, Wiggy, but if she's up to date with a shorter hemline she should have a different style dress. She looks Edwardian with that puffed-out bodice, and it could also be just an older girl. Can't see much, the whiteness of the dress has caused overexposure.

Cheers,

Yes - and on second thoughts, the hair still 'out/down' suggests a older girl rather than a woman doesn't it.

Wiggy, thanks very much for the tidying and reducing the sky, it's so much sharper now, that's great :)

I agree with you and China that the person on the left looks like a older girl rather than a woman.

Thank you both for your comments.
