The best fit for the ALice Grundy dying and buried in Nov 1911 is one registered in Prestwich district aged 64
That does make the most sense ... thanks Mabel  :)

Yes I have these baptism records; I just can't confirm the maiden name for this "Lizzie"or "Lizerbeth" as she called herself one census? Their first son Albert was born in '89 so my best guess for "Elizabeth"  is either
This one in Bolton (least likely) in 1888
Volume:    8c Page:    483
Name
Elizabeth Griffin
Peter Grundy
William Horrocks
Mary Kelly

or 1885 This one In Barton upon Irwell

James Bullas
Peter Grundy
Elizabeth Lawton
Margaret Wadsworth

Any thoughts?

The only way to be sure of which Elizabeth is to purchase a birth certificate - probably Alfred's.  Unfortunately LancashireBMD does not show a mother's maiden name for the registration.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

The 1885 one is not correct
Peter GRUNDY and  Margaret WADSWORTH at Barton-on-Irwell Register Office or Registrar Attended

The 1888 one
Elizabeth DARBYSHIRE and  Peter GRUNDY/ LEES ? at Bolton, St George the Martyr

Hi,

Unfortunately I don't think the 1888 GRUNDY/LEES is the right one,

Baptism
01 Jan 1860
Bolton le Moors, St Peter
Peter Grundy LEES
Parents:  Henry and Ann

Marriage:
26 May 1888
St George The Martyr, Daubhill
Peter Grundy LEES
28
Bachelor
Joiner
Father:  Henry LEES,  Joiner

Elizabeth DARBYSHIRE
26
Spinster
Father:  Robert DARBYSHIRE,  Minder

Also http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk/index.php shows the other 1888 Bolton marriage was to Mary KELLY.

Sorry that it doesn't help find the right marriage for Peter, but at least it rules them out.

I agree with BumbleB, it looks like the only way to be sure is by getting a birth cert.

Regards,
Daisy

Thanks Daisy, I think you're correct. The cost of ordering the certificates can really add up!  ::)
