pwllhelli baptisms
« on: Wednesday 11 February 15 15:29 GMT (UK) »
does any one have advise on where to look for baptisms in Pwllhelli? My 5x Gt grandfather John Jones was born 1791  Pwllhelli. I know this because it was in the 1851 census for Chester. His profession is shipwright, and he's married to Letitia Lee. also would he of served his apprenticeship   in Pwllhelli?

Thanks M Jones,

Hi,

Welcome to RootsChat :)

Looking at the Genuki site Pwllheli comes under the parish of Denio,

http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/CAE/Where/index.html#P

http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/CAE/Denio/index.html

I found some possible baptisms for John here,

http://www.yffor.com/parish/denio/deniobedydd1786.html

but it's hard to know which if any are him.

Regards,
Daisy

Thanks for info. Its great having a name like ' Jones ' LOL.
carried out research for 24 year and this is why I've put of doing the Jones side.
He was a shipwright so probably look in to him having indenture papers if the firm where big enough. Thanks again.
