Hi, seeking any information on Isabella Marin who came to Australia as a bounty immigrant aboard the ship England in 1841. She is listed as a housemaid from Glasgow aged 16. :) Thanks

Not an easy person to find because of the date as the first useful census was 1841, so if she traveled after 6 June 1841 then you will or should find her on the 1841 census and civil registration began in Scotland on 1st January 1855, so you will not find a birth certificate, so that leaves parish records for you to look for a  baptism.

The only census I could see that relates to Isabella was in Carluke Lanarkshire ..High Street different spelling of the surname

Isabella Merin b 1827 age 14
Elizabeth Merin age 13
Marion Merin age 11
Francis age 8, Robert age 5, John age 4, Mary age 2,Joan age 9 months

Thanks for the replies. It would not be her in the census. England left Liverpool 4 May 1841 arrived Port Phillip 17 Jul 1841. Have not been able to find any baptism in parish records or any record after arrival in Aust.  :(
