Mum in 1950 - help please!

Can anyone do anything with this photo - its a photo of my mother aged 3 and my aunt aged 4 in about 1950.
Would be very grateful,

The main photo looks a bit better.
deadants I know I keep saying I will stop colouring but i am so hooked, and one day you and vikki will say (yep thats the one) or (gadday ken ya didit)  ;D I may switch from PSP9 to Photoshop having just seen a training film from Lynda.com using the healing stamp WOOOOWWWW what a tool.
