1851 census Great Barford please
« on: Tuesday 05 July 05 15:45 BST (UK) »
Could sks please check a name for me on the Great Barford 1851 census folio no's 446-End
on page 23 there is what looks like a possible York surname?
Sarah York? on the very bottom of the page, widow age 66 Walthamstow?
also on next page no 24 what could be a John York? hd mar age 35 Farm Lab born Gt Barford and his wife Sarah York?? age     38 born Perry again these two on the bottom of the page.

The writing is flowery and very light on the copies I have, They could be York's or something entirely different!!
would be greatful if someone could confirm names?
Many thanks
Jenny

Hi Jenny

I think they are all Clark. The loop of the C is very faint on both, but more pronounced on the second page, and the tail then curls right under the bottom of the L.

Sarah 64 or possibly 66 pauper born Beds Willhampsted (Now spelt Wilstead)

regards

David
