Who does this info refer to - Albert or his father Robert?
Was Albert 42 when he married?
Had he been previously married?

Have you looked for his birth on freebmd?

this refers to albert james turner.i think the dob might be wrong as i can find him as born 1907 with the right death date which was 1955.i only know his father was robert because of the marriage cert.he had 3 kids before he got married!!!he married violet coe.thats about all we know.we have looked on ancestry and find my past and we cant find anything.he was also known as levi james turner though.you know what travellers are like for changing names.he was a hawker but stayed mainly in the cambridge area.hes got no war record.i am wondering as we cant find a proper birth reg for him naming mum and dad if he was given away at birth or something.we only think his dad was robert cause of the marriage cert.

What age is he on the 1940 marriage cert as that should determine his birthyear?

he had 3 kids before he got married

Who to - Violet or somebody else?  I can only see one Turner/Coe birth in 1933

As asked in my reply above - Had he been previously married (ie) is he shown as a bachelor or widower on the 1940 marriage cert?

as i can find him as born 1907 with the right death date which was 1955

Death was registered as Levi James - not Albert

his age on marriage is given as 42.eg born 1898 but we can only find a birth as 1907 with right death.yes we know his death was registered under the name levi james.no he hadnt been married before.but the 3 children he had before marriage are all mothers name violet coe so presume he had the kids before he married.

his death is right for a 1907 birth by the way.

Hi Cathy,

Are you sure the 3 children born before Albert and Violet were married were given their mums surname of Coe.

I have found three births all Turner/Coe, all male born in 1933, 1934, 1937.

Could Albert have fibbed about his age when he got married as there is a birth for an Albert James Turner born 1891 in the district of Risbridge.

There is also a birth for an Albert James Turner 1904 in St Neots.

If Albert was born in Cambridgeshire then the 1907 birth is incorrect because it is an Albert Edward Turner born in 1907 in St Ives.

There is however an Albert James Turner born in 1907 in Bosmere which is Suffolk.

Your welcome Cathay, I think we can discount the one born in Suffolk in 1907 as there seem to be several trees on ancestry that have this one being born, getting married and passing away in Suffolk.
