John pink
« on: Monday 23 February 15 14:42 GMT (UK) »
I am tracing my husbands family tree starting with john pink of Rogate Petersfield Hampshire.. He was married to Edith Mary wells in 1917 with the marriage certificate stating he was a royal marine. Edith died aged 31 in Rogate leaving a 3 year old daughter, Joyce Florence Gertrude, who was given to family relatives to raise. John would have been about 48 at this time, (This was my husbands mother) it seems that john pink lived till about 1957 as recorded as living on Joyce,s marriage certificate. However, it seems no further contact with his daughter was ever made. I can't find where they all lived at the time of Edith's death other than Rogate Midhurst, or what happened to john after Edith's death. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello & welcome.
Is John listed on the birth cert. as still being in the Marines?
Do you know what happened to her brother?

Just realised Joyce's mother's maiden name was Lintott not Wells.
Also I can't see an Edith Pink death aged 31.

What were his age, father's name and father's occupation on the marriage certificate?

Just a small word of caution, it may not always say the father was deceased even if he was, so be aware he may have died before she married  :)

Just realised Joyce's mother's maiden name was Lintott not Wells.

And was born 12 years after the Pink/Wells marriage. Were there older children?

Is Joyce now deceased ? If not her details should be removed from this thread.
