You have communicated to me that you found William Marshall in Peterhead Prison, Aberdeen, on the 1901 Census. I notice that the inmates were used as labour in a nearby quarry. Didn't I see "quarryman" as occupation on something I read about William Marshall?

I have heard that the Aberdeen Family History Group have a very good reputation as regards records etc. Would it be worthwhile trying to contact them to see if they have a record of William's death? Surely he couldn't survive those convict conditions at that age?

Just a thought.
