Wymer family
« on: Saturday 28 February 15 18:57 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I have read the threads relating to the Wymer family and I am very keen to know more.  My mother was a Wymer, only child of Ernest Arthur Wymer(d.1994).  His father was Ernest Enoch Wymer who was born in Norfolk in 1889 and died in Wimbledon in 1952.  Ernest Enoch was one of the children of Jacob and Marianne Wymer.
I can't message as I'm a new member.  I have some photographs, but not much information and would love to know more if anyone can enlighten me.
I am very interested in the restored picture of the Wymers on this site as it shows my Grandad and Uncle as small boys..  Thankyou :)

I went to school with Don Wymer in Wimbledon.  The family ran a fish and chip shop in Hartfield Road, Wimbledon.

Hi Wyndam,
I remember the Hartfield Rd shop.  That was run by Lesley and his wife and his sister Gladys.  Their father set both sons up with a chip shop, the other one was run by my Grandad and was in Mitcham.
I haven't seen Don Wymer since I was a teenager, I'm afraid he passed away almost 20 years ago.

I am sorry to learn that Don Wymer passed away so long ago.  I occasionally saw him when I was a teenager helping out in the fish and chip shop, usually on a Saturday night.

Hi Soapsand, thanks for your replyl.  I'm a novice at this and don't even know if 'down' means forwards or backwards in a family tree.  I'd be grateful for any information as I'm only just beginning to find out whereabouts in Norfolk they came from.

Hi again,I have most of the information for you to look at on my site www.raystree.tribalpages.com if you want to take a look.I can always send you a gedcom file if you wish also. Coming forwards is forward in time or down the line from Jacob in your direction.ie decendants of Jacob.I have yet to update some of the info as I have been concentrating on my family tree lately. Please let me know if there are any known discrepancies & I will put them right.
