John James BUTLER b 1853  lived at 121 All Saints Street, Hastings.  In 1875 he married a Mary Larkin b.1854 . I want to know if the Mary he married was the one that lived at 81 1/2 All Saints Street, Hastings.  John James  was the founder of BUTLERS EMPORIUM in Hastings.  Thank you....

Found Ann Larkin/Larkins on 1861 Census with Mary at the address you mentioned. Ann is a fisherman's wife born 1809.

James, her husband is offshore at Hastings on the boat Susannah, with Edward and Robert Bumstead. James is Master of the boat.

1871 Census has Mary living at the address with her siblings, her brother James is down as head of the house, he's a fisherman. Surname is given as Larking.

1871 census Mary Larkings is with her siblings at 89 1/2 All Saints St - 1881 some of her siblings are at same address -surname Larkings

There is a tree on A******y which gives her name as Mary Ann Larkin
Although the tree looks quite well sourced I think Mary Ann Larkin is a different person (living in Hastings) of a similar age to Mary Larkings

so it seems (in my opinion) the answer to your query is yes Mary was the one living at All Saints St but her name was usually entered as Larkings

the Dec qtr 1853 birth is more likely to show as b.c. 1854 on census

really you need to find a baptism to acertain which one is which -or purchase one of the birth certs

John James and Mary Butler are my Great Grandparents. I've just started researching, with my limited knowledge, my paternal family tree.  Their daughter Bertha is my Grandmother.

Mary Ann Larkin (no "s") was born Hastings and she married late 1881 to Alfred Norman Russell

It seems the tree has mixed Mary and Mary Ann up - they were both b Hastings and were of a similar age

So your heading ought to be altered to Larkins/Larkings
