Holborn family Lincolnshire & Norfolk
« on: Sunday 01 March 15 23:00 GMT (UK) »
 Hello everyone .

With the help of a relative's family tree, I have traced my family's movement from Westbie & Bassingthorpe in Lincs  to Terrington St Clements, between the 1530s & the 1850s.

However in the 1841 census I have found a John Holborn & his family, who lived in Gedney Lincs, and as far as I can make out, never moved.

John Holborn, the head of the family was born in approx. 1786. Are there any parish records on line, eg BMDs which  I could look at to see if he's related to my branch of the family ?

I'm hoping some bright person here can steer me in the right direction !

Thank you .

to expand your knowledge of available materials>

http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LIN/

http://www.origins.org.uk/genuki/NFK/

https://familysearch.org/search/collection/1416598

as well one can check the resources boards of rootschat for each county ....sometimes folk have already done work in the places you seek , so use the index search engine as well....

https://familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/Terrington_St_Clement,_Norfolk_Genealogy

freebmduk provides an index for certificate references and Terrington comes under Wisbech...... so any data you require for other lines..that is a good website to remember.........    ordering of certificates is done thru WRO for Uk ..........   remember as well that freebmduk has freecen and freereg links........   so its always a good idea to check those for materials such as stray censuses or transcribed pr entries......

good luck
