Our OP has only recently joined RChat.   May I quote from the Australian thread where I posted:

I can see the marriage, and several NZ births to the couple  1881- 1894.  There’s a possible NZ death for Alfred Henry at age 89 years in 1941, and sightings perhaps  for Emma too - aged 98 in 1954 or aged 92 in 1957

May I please ask if our NZ friends can look through their offline resources to check if they have further details to help our OP learn more about her MILES ancestors, in particular, Reginald Thomas MILES.

Are there any transcriptions of that Register?  Reginald was born 1877

Incidentally, the following sons of Alfred Henry and Emma MILES, were also pupils at Wanganui Collegiate.

1699 - MILES - Leslie - Years:  1907-1910   [[born c. 1891* ]

1763 - MILES - Charles Cockburn - Years:  1908-1913      [born c. 1894 *]

Please bear with me as I'm a rookie & plodding my way thru as best I can.
OK, I'll do my best to answer your questions.

Underneath the list of children born, the next sentence refers to Ken McCOLL having supplied this information ... and follows with "Another descendant is Patrick SWEEZY, the grandson of their last child (born at Christchurch).

This seems to also make Mr SWEEZY (or SWEEZEY) the grandson of Reginald Thomas MILES ?
I'm just a bit puzzled       Is this man known to you ?

My mother, Dorothy Edna (nee Miles) CLARKE is the younger sister of Kathleen Elena (nee Miles) SWEEZEY).

Patrick is my cousin & lives in Ontario, Canada.

I have never met or been in contact with Ken McColl but I would love to!

I believe I have the most accurate information when it comes to Reginald & Anna MILES as they lived close to my parents home & lived in a suite at my Aunt & Uncle's home - Eileen Florence (nee MILES) was married to Douglas Vernon ROBINSON. Eileen was sister to Dorothy & Kathleen.

I have copies of their marriage & death certificates, news clipping of their 50th anniversary announcement and I have my grandmothers' engagement ring.

Hello ... yes, as your cousin Patrick had contributed information to that "Don ARMITAGE web page", I'd just been trying to establish whether or not he might have a link or contact for Ken McCOLL???

Not sure if you are a subscriber to ancestry.com - but there are quite a number of trees submitted to that site for Reginald Thomas MILES ... and also for John James McCOLL (d. Australia 1929) who had married Ada Maria MILES (sister to Reginald).    It may be that a researcher (maybe of the McCOLL family), can put you in contact with Ken McCOLL ??

Yes, Lu, I am a member of ancestry.com but as yet have not been "connected" to any tree by Ken McColl.

I did find an address for Ken from emails that Don Armitage & I exchanged.

Just adding here the details of what appears to be the oldest child of Thomas and Maria MILES.
[He was just shown on the list of 10 children (Don Armitage site), as Thomas. ]

Baptism at St Anne, Limehouse, Tower Hamlets on 15 June 1859.

MILES - Thomas William *
Born :  29 May 1859
Father:  Thomas MILES - Master Mariner
Mother:  Maria
   ... residing at Stacusley?? Terrace, Poplar

[It's possible that this child was named for a deceased half-brother ?  Namely the child Thomas William MILES born 1851 to Thomas MILES (Mariner) and his wife Ann.  ? ]
