As a fan of Poldark I planned to call my third child Angharad (we were living in Wales at the time).............somehow I don't think my son would have approved.  :D

Just watched it and enjoyed it. I thought it stayed fairly true to the book.

Darker and more gritty than the original series. I like it! ;D

Yes I agree, a good start IMO
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

Having been old enough to watch the original I liked it too.

I agree that this is off to a good start - I remember the original series and this one is not as brooding.

I loved it so much back then that when my oldest son was born I called him Ross (38 years ago).

My brother and sister in law called their daughter, my niece, (now similar age to your son) Demelza!!

We watched Poldark and recorded Mr Selfridge. What with Call the Midwife earlier, Sunday evenings are getting rather busy!
