Help Finding Parents of John Richard Davis and Anastasia Power( 1786-1849)

Looking for parents of John Davis and Anastasia Power(1786-1849). They were married at St George Liverpool 8 May 1808. Records say they were both of the Parish and John was a Master Mariner. They had 5 children. John Richard Davis b 1809,Anastasia Mandeville Davis 1812-1873,Edward Maurice Davis b1814 ,Charles Mandeville Davis b1818 and Ann Davis 1820-1901.All baptised in Catholic Faith.
The 1841 Census has Anastasia(1786-1849)widowed and living with her daughter Anastasia in Oak Lane, Walton on The Hill. Her sister Alice Power and youngest daughter Ann Davis are also at this address.
Anastasia and Alice Power were both born in Ireland.
I'm at a loss how to go back further.
I have found a John Richard Davies born 1780 and Baptised at St Nicholas,father John Davies a Mariner but am not sure if they are the right ones because name is different.
Any help would be appreciated

The 1841 census does not record marital status, it could just be that John is not present.
However this may not help as there is a death registered West Derby, Lancashire 1850 for
John Richard Davis.

Thanks Annie65115 and Colin. As you can see I'm relatively new to this.
I will check out the Davies you listed.

John Brotherton Davies died Nov 1778(Bishops Transcripts).

I thought if I could get a marriage certificate from one of John Richard Davis's seniors children I might be able to get more details about him, would this be correct? Anastasia Mandeville Davis and John Richard Davis jnr  both married in time  before GRO records.
In my searches I have also found an Edward Davies with father John Davies  both Master Mariners who married an Elizabeth Ann Jones 15 Feb 1842 (Liverpool England Marriages and Banns) . Not sure if  they are the right ones.

If you have an Ancestry subscription, you can see copies of the actual PRs but the lancsopc site seems to have transcribed everything that was on the PRs.

Unfortunately, John Davies was not an uncommon name! I filtered by going through and only picking the ones at the same address. Others are easy to rule out (baker, for example); but others are mariners, but different address, and it's quite possible that they are different people.

(So many men in Liverpool at that time were mariners, I know, I'm descended from some of them too!)

I don't think you'll get any extra info about him from his children's marriage documentation; depending on when they married it might not even name him.

I looked for a marriage between John Davies and Jane but couldn't see one either.

Anastasia's marriage certificate is on line through ancestry, have you seen it?

Thanks.Yes I do have an ancestry subsciption. Anastasia Mandeville Davis is my 4th Great Grandmother and we have quite a lot of information on her.
